WATSON BATTY ARCHITECTS STEPS UP A LEAGUE WITH STRONG PERFORMANCE

Watson Batty Architects has announced impressive plans for business growth with the launch of a new brand identity and ambitious targets to almost double its turnover in the next five years.

The announcement comes as the long standing practice gears up to celebrate its 40th anniversary next year.

Since 2008 Watson Batty Architects has weathered the economic crisis favourably, this year reporting a turnover increase to £4 million and 50% growth since 2005. This is attributed in the main to its diverse sector experience and loyalty from long standing clients.

Peter White, Managing Director at Watson Batty Architects said, “We are delighted to report that we have maintained strong performance through the post-recession period. As we approach 40 years in practice we felt that it was appropriate to review our brand values and bring forth the attributes that have brought us success to date. Established, trusted, confident, and future focused is where we seek recognition, succinctly summed up in our new strapline ‘FUTURE BUILT’ which is the essence of our practice moving forward.

“Looking ahead, we see a strong pipeline of projects coming to fruition and have plans to invest heavily in developing our team expertise and technological capabilities. We are projecting a steady trading increase of around 20% year on year over the next 5 years.”

Watson Batty Architects operates nationally with offices in Loughborough and Leeds and employs 50 people. Its sector expertise is widespread and includes, commercial, industrial, distribution, education, leisure, residential, retail and transport.

With established long term relationships the practice has worked continually for over 25 years with key ‘blue chip’ clients such as Royal Mail and Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc to deliver through frameworks and partnering.

Watson Batty Architects is also delivering a number of significant capital projects for Universities including Huddersfield, Bradford, Sheffield Hallam, York St John and Liverpool Hope, as well as significant local authority leisure centres in Newark and Washington.

It has recently invested in using the latest Autodesk Revit software and BIM technology to facilitate 3D modelling, and improved design team collaboration in order to meet the public sector procurement targets for project delivery by 2016.

White concludes, “The success of the practice is also clearly due to the dedication and commitment of our team and we are actively recruiting key people to support long term growth as we move into an exciting future.”
