Design honour as Artize Tailwater collection tap from luxury bathroom specialist Jaquar wins 2018 Red Dot Award: Product Design

Tap designed by Danelon Meroni studio for luxury bath brand Artize from global bathroom solutions specialist Jaquar recognised in prestigious international awards.

The distinctive style of the Tailwater collection tap in the Artize range from luxury global bathroom brand Jaquar has been honoured in this year’s prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design.

Tailwater was created for Jaquar’s premium Artize range by the London-based Danelon Meroni design studio, and combines sleek lines inspired in the natural world with expertly-engineered industrial design.

Martin Voisey, head of Jaquar UK, said: “The unique design of the Tailwater collection attracted considerable attention when the Artize range was launched to the UK trade earlier this year, and it is a pleasure to see that the Tailwater tap has now been recognised in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018.

“This is arguably the world’s most important award for product design, and this year attracted entries from 6,300 products from 59 countries for judging by the 39-member jury. It is a significant achievement that the Tailwater tap has been honoured.

“We engaged top designers to create the Artize range, which includes Tailwater, and the result has been products that combine design, technology and talent . These have created something really special in the market-place and have undoubtedly captured imaginations in both commercial and domestic markets.”

The judges at this year’s Red Dot Award: Product Design, said of the Tailwater tap: “Tailwater fascinates with a design idea that has been honed to the smallest detail. Its exceptionally appealing aesthetic blends in particularly well with modern bathrooms.”

Other products which honoured with a Red Dot Award included Tag Heuer’s Connected Modular 45 Luxury Kit and the Google Home smart speaker. While the products selected by the judges varied considerably, all combined cutting-edge aesthetic design quality with high degrees of functionality.

The Artize luxury bathroom brand, which is currently only available to trade suppliers, was launched to the UK trade in Covent Garden, London, earlier this year by Jaquar Group, a leading global complete bathroom solutions manufacturer that is one of the fastest growing bathroom brands in the world, with presence in over 40 countries, delivering over 2 million bathrooms a year and producing 24 million bathroom fittings annually.

The launch was the first time Artize had been seen in the UK or Europe, but the distinctive, high-end styles of the range had already proven enormously popular in the Middle East, Africa & ASEAN.
