LEGOLAND® CHANGING PLACES

LEGOLAND® CHANGING PLACES

The UK’s most visited children’s theme park has become more accessible to guests- just by enhancing its toilet provision.

The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort is the latest venue to open a Changing Places assisted, accessible toilet.

Supplied and installed by Closomat- Britain’s leading provider of such toilet facilities- the Changing Places room enables anyone who needs additional support with personal care can address those needs in an appropriate environment.

Strategically located in the centre of the 150 acres park, in Heartlake City, the Changing Places represents best practice in toilet provision (under BS8300:2018) and gives users more space, with additional equipment to that found in a conventional wheelchair-accessible WC: specifically a ceiling track hoist, privacy screen, height adjustable washbasin and adult-sized mobile changing bench.

It compliments the Resort’s existing accessible offering of wheelchair accessible toilets in all WC blocks around the venue, and a hoist in the Guest Services area.

Andrew Edwards, LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort Guest Operations Manager observed, “We know the Changing Places facility is going to make such a difference to our guests who need extra support, either from carer(s) and/or equipment. It means those guests can now come, and stay longer, knowing there are suitable facilities for them. We’re looking forward to them having the chance to try it out.”

Under Building Regulations and British Standards (BS8300:2018), a Changing Places should be provided in any facilities to which numbers of the public have access, and/or spend a length of time.

Closomat is Britain’s leading provider of helpful toileting solutions, at home and away, including Changing Places. Uniquely, the company can provide an in-house, ‘one- stop-shop’ complete package for ‘away from home’ assisted accessible toilet facilities, from design and commissioning, through to project management, supply and installation, and can also provide subsequent maintenance and repair.

Its website www.clos-o-mat.com is the ‘go to’ resource available for campaigners, providers and specifiers alike, with a raft of support information including white papers, calling cards, CAD blocks, NBS specifications, video and case studies.
