RUSSELLS’ TRAINING WELCOMED BY INDUSTRY @russellrooftile

More than 20 architects have already signed up Russell Roof Tiles’ RIBA-approved training – a CPD programme dedicated to educating the industry about sustainability in roofing.

Investing in the training for the first time, the leading roof tile manufacturer joined the elite RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) CPD Providers Network just six months ago and has already seen architects from across a number of practices keen to participate.

The programme forms part of RIBA’s core curriculum and is geared towards the importance of sustainability within roofing and meeting today’s revised standards such as the BS 8612 – the British Standard for Dry-fixed Ridge, Hip and Verge Systems for Slating and Tiling.

The architects include Mersey Design Group, Spring Design and Peter Wilmot. Each training session counts towards the architect’s 35 hours of CPD learning activities – something they are required to undertake every year, to maintain competence.

Russell Roof Tiles will present at the individual’s practice and it will be delivered by informed product and technical teams.

This significant investment in joining the elite RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) CPD Providers Network is part of Russell Roof Tiles’ dedication to educating and broadening the wider understanding of pitched roofing materials and concrete roofing solutions.

Over the past few years, this commitment and investment has also seen Russell Roof Tiles open a brand-new on-site training facility at one of its Burton factories.

Alan Young, Regional Sales Director for Russell Roof Tiles has led the delivery of the CPD Providers Network within the business. He said: “The huge interest in our RIBA-approved programme demonstrates how sustainability and the need for long-lasting roofing solutions is becoming a commonplace requirement for architect’s practices of all shapes, sizes and disciplines.”

“It is fantastic to see a number of architects sign up to the programme already and as we continue to provide high quality advice and support to architects through the training, we looking forward to seeing many more sign up.”

Employing 160 staff at its two sites in Burton and a further site in Lochmaben, Russell Roof Tiles is a pioneering independent roof tile manufacturer, providing pitched roofing solutions for leading UK house builders and high-profile social housing projects, where sustainability and eco-credentials are of the utmost priority.
