Aura Light is expanding its team of experienced lighting professionals having appointed a new Industrial Sales Manager following the expansion of its UK base and transition into the LED market.
Tony Smith has joined the company with a wealth of experience gained in various roles across the lighting and electrical industry as well as being an ex-professional football player with Aston Villa FC.
Simon Taylor, Managing Director at Aura Light UK commented, “We are extremely pleased to have Tony join our team to take care of sales within the industrial market. He is extremely experienced in lighting sales and design and has a lot of knowledge of the industry which we have no doubt will assist in our on-going growth and we are really looking forward to working with him.”
Commenting on his new position, Tony Smith said “I am excited to be joining such a professional and successful company and I am looking forward to moving forward with them as they expand further into the LED market, especially with the launch of the company’s new ‘Lighting as a Service’ scheme providing funding for lighting projects.”
Tony’s experience in the lighting industry extends over 28 years at many top lighting companies, following 16 years at Interserve as a Senior Contracts Manager. He also holds several qualifications from the LIA and Electrical Contracting Industry to back his extensive knowledge of the industry.
The expansion of the Aura Light UK team is just one element of the company’s on-going growth. Earlier this year saw the company move into a larger premises to accommodate the expansion in its services, which now features Aura Light as a major player in the LED fixtures market after many years of success as a market leading lamp manufacturer. In February, Aura Light also acquired Swedish luminaire manufacturer Zobra, which brought with it the respected Noral brand and its entire range of high performance outdoor luminaires.
