Energy Assets Group, one of Britain leading independent metering, asset management and utility network construction companies, has appointed Phil Cafferkey as General Manager of Dragon Infrastructure Solutions (DIS).
Mr Cafferkey joins Northampton-based DIS with significant utility industry experience and expertise, with a remit to maximise operational effectiveness across residential and commercial connection markets throughout England.
DIS was acquired by Energy Assets last year and is a key building block in the Group’s plans to expand its utility network construction operation across Britain. This strategy gained further impetus recently when Batley-based Future Energy Group, a leading multi-utility infrastructure design and construction business, became part of the Energy Assets family.
Phil Cafferkey commented:
“I am delighted to have joined DIS at a very exciting time in its development and very much look forward to driving the business in line with Energy Assets’ growing investment in a nationwide multi-utility network design and construction capability. DIS enjoys an enviable reputation for technical and operational excellence in electricity infrastructure and counts many significant residential, commercial and industrial projects in its portfolio. As such, the business is well positioned for growth.”
Phil Cafferkey has been involved in the utility sector all his working career, starting aged 16 as a labourer with his father’s business, before moving into supervisory and management roles with a range of gas, water and fibre installation companies, including GTC. Most recently he was Director of Operations at TriConnex, helping to grow revenues from £4m to £40m over a four year period.
Craig Topley, Energy Assets Group Managing Director (Construction), commented:
“Phil Cafferkey’s appointment marks another important milestone in the development of our nationwide multi-utility network design and construction capability. His leadership experience will be invaluable in shaping the systems, technical expertise and customer-facing support that will enable DIS to reach its growth potential within an ambitious Group environment.
