One thousand possibilities with 3M™ DI-NOC surface finishes offered by William Smith

Hundreds of stylish designs have been added to 3M™’s 2018 architectural finishes collection, taking the total number in the William Smith portfolio to more than a thousand finishes.

William Smith has added over 200 3M™ DI-NOC new surface finishes to its range, boosting the Company’s commitment to offer its customers a variety of choice.

Based on extensive research carried out by leading architects and designers, the finishes recreate natural materials at a fraction of the cost of traditional materials. The range includes a selection of patterns that accurately mimic wood grains, natural stone, metallic finishes and fabrics as well as solid colours.

The new innovative finishes boast an ultra-matt top coat, which creates a natural, realistic and elegant look and is designed to make the films fingerprint and dirt-resistant – something new to the market.

Hard-wearing and resistant to dirt, the abrasion resistant patterns possess long-term durability for areas that may require additional protection from premature wear and tear or damage, for example on bar tops or counters.

Adhering to both rough and smooth surfaces, the finishes offer the ideal flexibility for designers and architects when working on interior or exterior new build and refurbishment projects.

Each finish incorporates 3M™ Comply™ Technology, which is a system of small air release channels within the adhesive layer of the film that allows air trapped between the substrate and finish to escape, making application quick and easy.

Marketing manager of the group’s building-related film division, Architextural, Lindsay Appleton, said: “We are incredibly pleased to announce we’ve once again strengthened our portfolio of architectural films.

“3M™ DI-NOC material is a very durable, adhesive film that can be used for interiors within retail, restaurants, hotels and more! By wrapping surfaces, clients no longer need to rip out and replace fixtures and fittings, meaning less waste going to landfill and greater sustainability for businesses.

“We recognise that designers and architects have always had to work to a budget and sometimes it’s hard to find solutions for creative ideas using traditional methods. 3M™ DI-NOC Architectural Finishes offer cost-effective and imaginative solutions for a wide variety of decoration, refurbishment and re-surfacing requirements.”

The additional patterns to the range supplement the existing product families within the portfolio from wood, metal, textile, stucco and ceramic to stone, leather and plain colours, offering a more comprehensive range of architectural finishes.
