The leading British Thermal Engineering Group Western Thermal Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of Christopher Garland, who will be joining the Western Thermal Group as Executive Director and CEO from his previous position as Regional Director at Hertel.
Since beginning his career in the construction industry upon graduating in 2000, Mr Garland has developed a wealth of experience within the industry, following stints at Balfour Beatty to his most recent employer, Hertel, where he has been since 2010.
As the Regional Director at Hertal, Mr Garland was accountable for the North East, East, Scotland and UK ME&I Business Units, He also served as part of the UK board of directors in the company. This produced an impressive track record in which saw three years of business strategic growth as well as reducing business cost by restructuring throughout his tenure.
At Western Thermal, Mr Garland will bring together his strengths of key account management, contract management, leadership, and a strong commercial acumen, which he has accumulated through his career spanning over 18 years.

Mr Garland’s appointment is the first key move by Western Thermal Ltd following a very successful 2018 which saw the leading engineering company secure a number of high profile contracts in the field of construction, pipe fabrication, Mechanical and other major areas of operations. This includes the Wardian Project in Canary Wharf, Heathrow Terminal 5, Arla Foods’ Aylesbury dairy, Wembley Stadium, Victoria Station, Battersea Power Station residential and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

In addition to his roles with Hertel, Christopher has also worked as a Business Development Manager at Royal Vopak Global and was an International Business Analyst for Shell Global PLC.
