National Insulation Association Annual Conference and Gala Dinner: 22 April 2020 @NIAUK

The National Insulation Association (NIA) has announced that it will hold its Annual Conference and Gala Dinner on Wednesday 22nd April 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham. Aimed at the insulation, housing and construction industries, the daytime conference will take as its main theme: “UK Energy Efficiency Policy: 2020 and Beyond.”

The conference will feature speakers from The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and representatives of devolved government. They will discuss their latest energy efficiency plans and policies, as well as targets for UK-wide decarbonisation.

Also taking the podium will be leading industry representatives, and agencies associated with the roll-out of new, industry-shaping quality standards and developments and such as PAS 2035 and TrustMark.

The conference will run from 10am to 4:30pm, and it will be followed by a gala dinner that starts at 7pm.

As the flagship national event for insulation professionals, and an important source of information for many related industries, the event is open to NIA members but also to a wide range of public sector and commercial organisations. In previous years, it has been well attended by energy companies, housing associations, local authorities and government departments, as well as a large community of NIA partners and stakeholders.

Delegates from the Public Sector Organisations can attend the full event including the Gala Dinner for £135 + VAT and commercial organisations for £155 + VAT – there are also rates for conference / gala dinner attendance only.

Notable items on the conference agenda include:

  • UK decarbonisation: what it will mean for business
  • Government (England / Scotland / Wales) policy for the new decade
  • PAS2030/35: certification, requirements and compliance
  • TrustMark and ECO: registration and transition

The conference will also feature a section entitled “Energy efficiency, a regional approach”. This will show how different cities and regions are seeking to meet their carbon obligations, and illustrate some of the commercial opportunities that these efforts are creating for insulation businesses and other sustainability specialists.

“This is an important opportunity to keep abreast with important industry developments,” said NIA Chair Derek Horrocks. “Industry representatives will be sharing information about new opportunities and best practice, and leading policymakers will be giving delegates an insight into new government policies that will shape the direction of our sector. It’s the leading conference of its kind and an event that really shouldn’t be missed.”
