3A Composites GmbH, the manufacturers of ALUCOBOND®, has published a new and informative guide, which details the company’s commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Titled ‘We care about a sustainable future’, the 18-page brochure details 3A Composites’ corporate philosophy towards sustainability and highlights how, over the last 50-years, sustainability has been at the heart of its operations, from their handling of raw materials, through to its care for the environment and social environment. It also highlights how sustainability continues to be at the fore of 3A Composites’ operations.
The guide also explains how its aluminium composite panels contribute to both active and passive energy savings due to their low servicing and maintenance costs, which are matched with a high insulating effect. As such ALUCOBOND® products can be considered passive material storage as a result of its high recycling capability.
Available to download from the website, the guide also details how 3A Composites is achieving sustainability through a large and continuous programme of investment that is moving its business towards ever-more sustainable processes and operations. It also highlights how the company, having invested €20million in sustainability measures over the last 20 years, has also established an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001, which sees it working continuously to reduce CO2 emissions through reductions in energy and water consumption, increases in productivity, and waste reduction. With a further €15million investment planned for new, more energy efficient production processes, including a heat recovery measure, further CO2 reductions will be achieved, estimated at 450 t from 2021 onwards.
How 3A Composites works collaboratively with experts from the construction industry and associations to develop solutions for designing their products to be more innovative and sustainable for architects, planners, property developers, building owners and users, is also detailed.
The ALUCOBOND® product is detailed and how, being made from aluminium, which despite requiring a high degree of primary energy during initial production, is infinitely 100% recyclable, as well as having the durability for long service therefore reducing ever further its whole-life environmental impact.
The active and passive energy savings presented by ALUCOBOND® are also explained and how when it is used in back-ventilated façade systems with an outstanding insulating effect, it reduces the introduction of heat during the summer whilst increasing protection from cold during the winter – all reducing energy use by the building.
ALUCOBOND’s® environmental building certifications, end-of-life recycling options, façade applications are also discussed, and the brochure concludes with a number of stunning globally certified ALUCOBOND® projects that are making a positive contribution to lower energy and sustainability.
