The UK and Europe’s leading shower designer and manufacturer, Roman, reveal its involvement in one of Snowdonia’s landmark projects, the new Hilton Garden Inn.
The Hilton Garden Inn brand continues to build on its reputation for creating beautiful hotels in beautiful locations. Having successfully completed the Faroe Islands Garden Inn, Roman were chosen by HH Smith to furnish the 108 bathrooms in Snowdonia. The hotel is set in the stunning Conwy Valley in North Wales within the Adventure Parc Snowdonia, surrounded by hills next to Europe’s largest inland surf lagoon and a magnet for water-sports enthusiasts.
Roman’s 400,000 square foot manufacturing facility is situated in County Durham. The leading manufacturer has an extensive team of in-house designers and all of Roman’s products are designed and made in Britain. Working with the contractor from the outset, it was an ambitious build programme due to the pandemic but despite this, regular communication and project planning meant Roman’s elements of the project were delivered on time and a true working collaboration was formed with HH Smith.
The hotel benefits from Hilton’s latest Garden Inn Design which features an open bathroom offering a beautiful, contemporary, spacious bathroom and guest room experience. The Roman Stone vanity units offer seamless joints using a non-porous, stain resistant easy clean solid surface material. To compliment the materials used on the vanity unit, matching door thresholds were designed and manufactured to be sited at the bottom of the shower door along with cistern lids. All Roman solid surface materials are proven and tested for hotel environments.

Hilton Garden Inn bathrooms feature a separate toilet and shower enclosure. The shower enclosure benefits from a large frosted window adding to the feeling of space. Roman manufactured the toilet door, shower door and side window using frosted glass and black hardware. To compliment the black hardware and to give the impression of a framed door and window, a black border was printed onto the glass. The innovative print technique used actually infuses the print into the glass meaning that there’s a layer of glass over the print. Not only does this provide added protection to the border, it also reduces the time housekeeping require to clean and maintain the room.
