GRAMPIAN USED ON SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT IN CORBY

Russell Roof Tiles (RRT) has supplied concrete roof tiles to support a social housing project for 32 new two- and three-bedroom social homes that Corby families will benefit from, at Forest Gate Road, on the Modus Partnerships development.

This is the second development where Russell Roof Tiles has worked in partnership with leading developer Modus Partnerships Ltd, based in Leicestershire. Modus Partnerships Ltd, who specialise in building affordable homes for housing associations across the Midlands selected Russell Roof Tiles for their reliability and skill in the sector.

The new homes were developed for social rent purposes to help create affordable rental properties. The site where the build took place was formerly occupied by Northamptonshire County Council’s social services department and has been vacant for nearly a decade. It has now been bought back to life thanks to a scheme set up by PA Housing as a part of its development programme.

James Pendleton, Regional Sales Director of the Midlands & South said: “We were incredibly pleased to be specified to roof all homes at the new site in Corby, which has benefitted the local community already.

“Our products are some of the most cost effective and reliable on the market. The Grampian tile is very prominent in the area of Northamptonshire, especially within the social and private sectors.”

The homes were completed in the summer of 2022 and are within easy walking distance from both Corby’s railway station and its town centre.

Simon Preston, Director at Modus Partnerships Ltd said: “ We were delighted to be working with Russell Roof Tiles again on our recent affordable housing development in Corby, and the quality of their product has added signif icantly to the impact of the overall build.

“As a result, the development has been extremely well received by our partner housing association and the local authority. The client and all home occupiers are really pleased with the aesthetic feel and high quality of f inish that Russell Roof Tiles have produced. We look forward to using the company again in the future.”

The combination of Grampian tiles in Slate Grey and Cottage Red were used on the site, which form part of Russell Roof Tiles’ Commercial Range of products and is a standard flat interlocking roof tile laid half broken bonded. The Grampian tiles provide the traditional appearance of slate but with the security of an interlocking design and commercial benefits of concrete.

Russell Roof Tiles was chosen due to the quality, reliability, and availability of their products. Concrete tiles replicate the appearance of natural looking roof tiles with the benef its of offering greater strength, while modern manufacturing methods deliver a technically consistent and quality product for the developer.
