LONDON: The highly anticipated exhibition ‘Metamorphosis – Craft from Poland’ has officially opened at Somerset House, marking a historic debut for the Creative Industries Institute (Poland) at Collect 2026. Open until Sunday 1 March this presentation marks the country’s surging creative influence and cultural confidence on the global stage.
- Ceramics & Clay:Alicja Patanowska presents collectible wall compositions from her V&A ‘Ripple Effect’ installation, alongside Monika Patuszyńska’s poetic explorations of fractures and GRÖPK-Marcin Kuberna’s instinct-driven coiled forms.
- Wood & Glass: Anna Bera presents functional tactile wood sculptures, while Maciej Gąsienica Giewont showcases green-wood vessels shaped by nature’s unpredictability. Katarzyna Krejanimates the gallery with suspended glass ‘constellations’ that play with light.
- Paper & Metal:Agata Marchlewicz reconfigures1 9th-century folk traditions through bold, graphic paper cut-outs. In contrast, and Formsophy presents aluminium works cast outdoors to absorb elements of the natural environment.
The exhibition, designed by architects Miśka Miller-Lovegrove and Roman Lovegrove,
provides a serene yet powerful backdrop to reflect the sophisticated dialogue between the organic and the man-made elements of the piece.
