North East-based Gabel Toole Ltd (GTL) has become the first business in the UK to supply and install a new, innovative alternative to concrete foundations.
Perfect for the construction of fencing, decking, garden rooms and extensions, the “Stop-Digging” ground screw is a Swedish invention that has already made a big impact on the European continent.
GTL is already carrying out installations around the country including many self build projects in London where space is at a premium.
GTL founding directors Andy Gabel and Peter Toole explained: “The Stop-Digging technology is a secure and stable alternative to time consuming and costly concrete foundations and is a great system to use in tight urban spaces. It involves mini pile screws, available in a range of sizes and applications and installed by GTL trained and competent installers nationwide.
“We believe this could represent an alternative future for building foundations and we’re delighted to be pioneers in this respect. We currently have five teams installing the ground screws throughout the UK but envisage that growing to around 10 to 15 separate installation teams in the very near future.
“The feedback has already been very positive and we are currently working with a number of garden room and log cabin companies across the UK have a number of specialist projects lined up across the North East and further afield over the coming months,” added Andy who also runs GT construction, building & restoration within the Gabel Toole group and recently oversaw the stunning refurbishments of Hexham Abbey and Ripon Cathedral.
