Taking inspiration from the latest design innovation, whilst remaining true to the retailer’s premium quality theme, Ecora’s predicts some of its best sellers in home interiors.

Ecora Director Jeandre du Toit says, “We monitored some of our fast selling home accessories in 2016 and we have an even sharper idea of what our customers are going to be selecting this year to update their home.  Colour and texture and materials are going to be hugely important decorative themes and will contribute to some of the most popular looks this year”.

Below, is a more detailed description of the staple trends that will be dominating in the forthcoming seasons.

 Colour

Last  year, deep colours were essential in every home decorator’s colour palette and this year isn’t an exception to that. Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017 hails green as the must-have swatch this year, and horticultural greens are especially in for paints and accessories. No doubt even the simplest potted plant can add a subtle yet calm and stylish touch to the urbane – you could even add splashes of vibrant green accents to furnishings and accessories for a sense of refreshment and revitalization.

Grey also continues to reign into the next year as its versatility in shades gives decorators a perfect, quirky canvas to work on – it’s easy to decorate around, and pretty much goes with any colour and texture.

 Textures

For many, 2017 will be a year for designers and decorators to explore their own DIY projects for a feel of taste and experiment. Even rummaging through an Antique’s Fare could save you the expenses of purchasing brand new furniture – vintage themes will add a timeless and sophisticated feel to your home and can still work with.

 Materials

Last year saw the experimental fad of metallic colours and brass and copper materials, useful in conceiving more expansive spaces and brighter, more airy settings from its reflections. Gold and brass can successfully bring feelings of warmth and affluence to parts of the room, such as brass and copper trays or embellished candleholders.

 Theme

Themes like the shabby chic, modern, or Old Country English will always be staple templates for any home. This year, Ecora’s experts are obsessed with the Hygge look – the Danish term pronounced ‘hoo-gah’, it is the feeling or mood that comes taking genuine pleasure in making ordinary, every day moments more meaningful, beautiful or special. Interior designers at Ecora have been exploring the Scandinavian look further and are now offering ultimate coziness with their new accessories.  To accentuate the above themes, Ecora showcases some of the accessories that are now available in-store and online.
