Demand for the versatile and elegant home lift remains strong since its 2012 launch
Terry Lifts’ Lifestyle Lift has enjoyed success since its launch in 2012. Over 200 units have been sold to date, with lifts being exported from the UK to countries including France, China and Australia.
The lift was designed to respond to a gap in the market for a new kind of home lift. Most houses that exist today are not designed to cope with the changing needs of their long-term residents. However, traditionally home lifts have been bulky, impractical and unaffordable. Terry Lifts went on to successfully design and manufacture an attractive lift with a surprisingly small footprint, yet with the capacity to carry 2 people in it. The lift offers a more versatile and elegant choice for those who don’t want a stairlift in their home.
A Home Lift with cutting edge design and safety features
The Lifestyle Lift does not require a lift shaft and can therefore easily fit into a corner of a room, taking up no more space than an armchair. The lift does not even require fixing to a wall. Instead, it is fixed to the floor base, to the aperture ring and the ceiling on the first floor. This is not only aesthetically pleasing, it also alleviates the need to fix to a party wall which may back onto a next door neighbour.
Like all of Terry Lifts’ products, the Lifestyle Lift is equipped with top notch safety features. The lift complies with BS 5900:2012 where applicable and is independently certificated to the Machinery Directive which is a legal requirement when a lift travel is above 3 metres. There is a 30-minute fire protection between the floors, whether the lift is parked upstairs or downstairs. “At Terry Lifts, we pride ourselves in manufacturing products that are safe and compliant with the BS and EU standards where appropriate”, says John McSweeney, Marketing & Export Director.
