Ballymore and London City Island triumph with double award at Property Week Awards

Ballymore is delighted to announce that they have been crowned  Developer of the Year at the prestigious Property Week awards on Tuesday 17th April – the Oscars of the property industry, while London City Island, set to be the new cultural hub for London, won the much coveted Placemaking Award – saluting another ‘epic year for the business’.

This accolade endorses Ballymore’s 36 years of success, as one of the UK’s most active and pioneering developers, and its unswerving focus on design and quality, allied to a commitment to energising communities through arts, culture and ‘placemaking’.  A family-run property developer, and quickly becoming one of Europe’s leading developers, Ballymore remains 100% under the control of the Mulryan family.

John Mulryan, Ballymore UK MD commented; “Winning both these awards is a real triumph and we are thrilled  that our developments have been recognised and celebrated for their quality, strong sense of place, bold designs and importantly the fact they have culture and art at their very heart. This year has been an important year for us, with residents moving into a number of our schemes across London, including Embassy Gardens, City Island and Royal Wharf, which are quickly becoming exciting destinations to live, work and play.”

London City Island was recognised as the ultimate placemaking success story, having achieved its vision of becoming a new cultural hub for London, which will really contribute to London’s arts scene – in particular with the English National Ballet moving its headquarters to the island imminently, along with the London Film School.  It was seen to have achieved its goal by becoming a culturally vibrant neighbourhood which will have a positive social and economic impact on the local community.
