F&C REIT APPOINTS CONTRACTOR TO BEGIN REDEVELOPMENT OF 71-77 WIGMORE ST PROPERTIES

F&C REIT has appointed Blenheim House Construction to begin work on a £12m redevelopment of 71-77 Wigmore Street, W1, which will create two new large ground floor and basement units suitable for either retail or restaurant use and include eight luxury residential apartments.

Forming part of the St Christopher’s Place Estate, the block will be redeveloped behind partially retained facades. All properties within the block will be increased in height to enable the provision of eight luxury apartments on the four upper floors which will be accessed via Wigmore Street.

Joanne Wilkes, Head of In Town Retail at F&C Reit Asset Management, commented: “The redevelopment will substantially improve the Wigmore Street frontage to St Christopher’s Place and enhance the link between Marylebone High Street and St Christopher’s Place.  The provision of better configured units provides an exciting opportunity to improve and complement the existing retail and restaurant tenant line up and the project will create an additional eight luxury apartments at St Christopher’s Place.”

It is hoped the redevelopment will be completed by September 2016.
