Queens Court wins Built Environment and Architectural Heritage New-build Project Bronze Award
We are delighted to be able to inform you that our project at Queens Court, Widnes has been recognised with a Green Apple Award for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage 2015.
The Green Apple Environment Awards is The Green Organisation’s annual international campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world. The awards are in their eighteenth year and well established as one of the major environmental recognition schemes, both in the UK and internationally.
To win an award a project must have made a positive impact on the environment or have improved sustainability. Architect Denovo Design received the bronze new-build projects award for the Halton Housing Trust affordable housing scheme in Widnes. Lindab Rainline galvanised steel rainwater drainage system was specified for its durable and recyclable characteristics.
The Queens Court project has been recognised for high environmental specification; community engagement; fitting-in with the surroundings yet with a strong sense of individuality and; helping in the re-generation of the Old Town. The scheme also received some great testimonials including a glowing report from Planning Officer, Glen Henry.
