Multifleet Vehicle Management Ltd has been awarded ‘Go Ultra Low Company‘ status, in recognition of how the organisation has embraced plug-in vehicles for its own fleet. This commitment to boost the uptake of plug-in vehicles is further reinforced with the launch of a 6-month plug-in trial for customers in partnership with Mitsubishi.
The subsidised trial of Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV’s offers Multifleets’ 1,200 business customers the chance to experience the economic and environmental advantages of plug-in vehicles for an extended period at low cost.

We were early adopters of this technology with the introduction to our fleet of a SMART car in 2011 as part of the Coventry and Birmingham Low Emission Demonstrator programme. We extended this programme and ran the vehicle for 3 years and more than 30,000 miles.
“We are very committed to this technology and are currently working in partnership with Mitsubishi to promote the uptake of plug-in vehicles – enabling our customers to have a subsidised 6-month trial of the Outlander PHEV. Customers are even able to take advantage of the free installation of a home charging point to help remove some of the perceived problems with running this type of vehicle.
“As businesses face uncertainty over the future of normally fuelled vehicles, it is our duty to provide sound advice to our customers. We provide fleet management services to over 21,000 vehicles operated by, mainly SME businesses that do not necessarily have access to the advice and demonstrators of larger fleets.”
2017 sales of plug-in cars have reached a record high in the UK, with 22,480 new EVs registered in the first six months of the year, an annual increase of 14.3%. Approximately two thirds of electric vehicles bought today go to corporate and public sector organisations – once again highlighting the important role companies play in adopting low emission technology.
