Fiandre Architectural Surfaces presents the new collection AION MAXIMUM, technical ceramic surfaces that blend the timeless elegance of marble with the texture of stone. In their age-old nature, natural stones interpret stories that trace the history of the human race and living environments, embracing a sense of eternity and the incessant passing of time.
This is where the charm of the new collection AION MAXIMUM comes from: the Greek word Aion refers to the eternal time of life. Eternity is understood as a concept transcending all forms of passing fashion, as well as a symbol of pure, unchanged beauty, despite the passing of time.
FORMATS, COLOURS AND VERSIONS
The discreet, sophisticated look of AION MAXIMUM, with its minimalist and contemporary character, is easily combined with classic or more elaborate textures, becoming versatile ceramic surfaces that respond to any design need with a wide range of formats and sub-formats (300×150, 150×150, 150×75, 75×75, 75×37.5 cm) and a transversal programme for bespoke applications.
The series comes in three neutral shades to choose from – Black Aion, White Aion and Grey Aion – to enhance floors and walls, as well as furnishings, accessories and architectural details, all the precious elements of our time. The intrinsic beauty of stone emerges from a carefully clever process to reproduce thin grains, shades and impressions on porcelain stoneware. In line with the formal cleanliness expressed by the whole collection, the natural matt-effect finish enhances the texture even more, bringing life to surfaces with a perfectly uniform appearance.
PROPERTIES
AION is a collection made using the MAXIMUM technology, generated by natural raw materials processed on their own. A light product – in the format 300x150cm, 6 mm thick it weighs just 14 kg per m2 – and at the same time versatile, offering the greatest design freedom. The maxi-slab faithfully mirrors the continuity of the material, and the wide range of sub-formats is designed to meet every need.
The new line confirms the properties of the MAXIMUM collection in terms of resistance to thermal shock, flexibility, machinability and hardness in just 6 mm. The high resistance to absorption and chemical aggression also allows the surfaces to be used for kitchen tops and washbasins. Optimising and amplifying the aesthetic and material continuity of the surfaces, the texture of AION makes the perfect complement for surfaces in the SapienStone line, in the shades Black Diamond, Palladium Grey and Platinum White, proposed in 12 mm thickness.
SUSTAINABILITY
MAXIMUM is sustainable: it offers a wide range of environmental-friendly materials made with at least 40% of recycled contents, in conformity with LEED requirements. Bureau Veritas, international leader in the assessment and analysis of environmental risks, from the industrial to the services sector, has recently audited, confirmed and certified the green soul of MAXIMUM. The surfaces, produced in zero-emissions production plants, represent a green choice in which creativity, technology and design live together in harmony, respecting the environment.
ACTIVE SURFACES® , eco-active surfaces
On request, AION MAXIMUM is also available as an eco-active Active Surfaces®. Present on the market for over 10 years and covered by European patents, Active Surfaces® exploit the photo-catalytic properties of titanium dioxide which, combined with silver, transform ceramics into an eco-active material with significant antibacterial antiviral, anti-pollution, anti-odour and self-cleaning properties, certified to ISO standards.
Thanks to the exposure to (natural or artificial) light and the humidity in the air, ceramic surfaces with Active Surfaces® technology are able to eliminate bacteria, viruses, fungi and mould. In the same way, they also eliminate bad odours, prevent the formation of polluting particles and stop the dirt from sticking, making rooms healthier and more comfortable. Their antiviral effectiveness has also been tested on SARSCoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19, 94% of which is eliminated in just 4 hours of exposure to natural and artificial light. In addition, thanks to the presence of silver, the effectiveness of Active Surfaces® lasts and lasts, even in the dark.
