Benchmarx Kitchen and Joinery in Thurmaston and Ravensbridge, Leicester, are building a kitchen for final wishes children’s charity, Wishes4Kids
Benchmarx Kitchen and Joinery, part of the Travis Perkins Group, is giving back to the community by supplying Leicestershire children’s charity, Wishes4Kids, with a new kitchen completely free of charge.
Benchmarx Kitchen and Joinery, as a business, prides itself on supporting charities both nationally, such as Macmillan but also regionally and this is a prime example of its commitment to supporting others.
Two branches have opened recently in the Leicester area and have already got to work helping local charities. On March 6 the Ravensbridge branch opened its doors, closely followed by the Thurmaston branch on March 20. Both branches have had a very strong first month and have been exceptionally well received by local tradespeople. The new Benchmarx branches are part of UK network of 180 branches.
Whilst Benchmarx is a trade kitchen supplier, consumers can also come in branch and choose from high quality, branded products. Friendly staff are on hand to offer advice and a free kitchen design service.
Darren Porter, Manager of Benchmarx, Thurmaston, and ten year industry veteran said, “Benchmarx really is a fantastic company to work for, there is a real emphasis on building a relationship with each customer.
“I was trying to think of how we could help Wishes4Kids when I saw the kitchen was very old and said ‘how about we replace it?’ We measured up, found a local fitter and now we’re just waiting to get started on the build. This is all part of our drive to build a relationship with the community we’re part of, while helping a cause we believe in”.
Janine Bates, Trustee of Wishes4Kids added, “The staff at Benchmarx are absolutely lovely people and there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for us.
“We get a lot of ‘WishKids’ coming down from the hospital around the corner. It’s good to have a space that isn’t the office where we can have a chat with them as well as reflect on the nature of what we do.
“Before, the kitchen was unusable and we had to do everything at our desks. Having a nice kitchen to go to really will make a huge difference”.
